We’re so hard on ourselves as parents, and when the girls were little, I felt that maybe my efforts towards my own career were at their expense. But now, when I think about how much my career has always been intertwined with my daughter’s lives, and what experiences we’ve had together because of that, from countless travel writing trips to creating books together, I feel intense gratitude.
