July 30 through August 2, 2020
I’ve been attending the Willamette Writers Conference for close to twenty years. First as an attendee, and for the last decade, as a speaker and teacher. It’s a wonderful chance to connect with other writers, learn about an array of writing tools, tricks, and professional approaches, and get inspired!
This year, WWC is going entirely online!
I’ll be presenting twice.
Sunday morning I’m teaching this workshop:
Navigating the World of Book Publishing
The good news is that there are more ways to publish a book in today’s world than ever before in history. But how do you navigate the book publishing territory? Traditional, small press, independent, self-publishing, regional, boutique, scholarly, academic—what do these publishing industry terms mean? And which one is right for you? In this workshop, author and publisher Kim Cooper Findling will clarify the puzzling waters of modern book publishing. Learn how to determine which publishing path is best for you and your project, and how to guide your book to its best finish line.
Friday morning I’m on this panel:
Travel Writing
I’ll be having a conversation with my friend and fellow author Eileen Garvin about travel writing. We will discuss the joys and challenges of traveling to and writing about place.
Willamette Writers cut the normal conference fee in half! Check it out – it’s going to be a great conference!
